Who we are
WebsiteMill is a web design and hosting service based in Toronto, Ontario, Canada. We build custom websites for local businesses across Canada.

What personal information we collect
Information you provide directly:
- Your name and business name
- Your email address and phone number
- Business type, neighbourhood, and any notes you include
- Payment information — processed securely by Stripe. We never store card numbers.
- Domain name preferences
Information we collect automatically:
- Whether your demo site preview was viewed, via a tracking pixel
- Basic browser and device information for debugging purposes

Why we collect your information — CASL
We are subject to Canada’s Anti-Spam Legislation (CASL). We only send commercial electronic messages when we have your express consent, or when CASL permits implied consent in a legitimate business context.
We use your information to:
- Build and deliver your website preview
- Process your payment and complete your order
- Set up your domain and hosting after purchase
- Send your free preview link and follow up with your consent
- Send transactional emails: renewal reminders, support replies
We do not sell your personal information to any third parties, ever.

How to unsubscribe
You can withdraw consent and unsubscribe from our emails at any time. We honour all requests within 10 business days, as required by CASL.
To unsubscribe: click the unsubscribe link at the bottom of any email we send, or email us at hello@websitemill.ca with the subject “Unsubscribe.” We will remove you promptly.

How we protect your information
- All payment processing is handled by Stripe, a PCI-compliant processor. We never store or access your full card number.
- All data in transit is protected with HTTPS/SSL encryption.
- Access to customer data is restricted to staff directly involved in building or supporting your website.

Third-party services we use
- Stripe — Secure payment processing
- Namecheap — Domain registration
- Cloudflare — DNS, CDN, and demo site hosting
- Google Maps / Places API — Used to look up your business details when building your preview
We share only the minimum data required with each service to deliver our service to you.

Data retention
- Free preview requests: retained for 30 days, then deleted if no purchase is made.
- Customer records: retained for 7 years for accounting and legal compliance.
- If you request deletion and are not an active customer, we will delete your data within 30 days.

Your rights
As a resident of Canada, you have the right to know what information we hold about you, request a copy, request corrections, request deletion, and withdraw marketing consent at any time. Email hello@websitemill.ca and we will respond within 30 days.

Children’s privacy
Our service is intended for business owners and is not directed at anyone under 18. We do not knowingly collect personal information from minors.

Changes to this policy
If we make material changes, we will update the “Last updated” date above and, where appropriate, notify active customers by email.
